Garrison Dental Solutions

The company known for its predictably tight contacts. Future focused, from humble beginnings - the place where design and function come together.

Like so many entrepreneurial businesses in America, Garrison Dental Solutions started out in a basement; the basement of Dr. Edgar and Dr. John Garrison’s dental practice.  That’s where the original Composi-Tight® Sectional Matrix system was brought to life back in 1996.  Many years and several hundred million matrix bands later, that same energy and enthusiasm that got the ball rolling, is still driving us forward.

Garrison Dental Solutions, is an American based company specializing in the design, development, and manufacturing of medical device product solutions to improve the quality and efficiency of dentistry. The genesis of Garrison Dental Solutions was in 1997, when three creative individuals-- two dentists and an engineer--developed a product to solve a common problem. Drs. Edgar and John Garrison, and Robert Anderson--with Tom Garrison joining shortly thereafter--had no idea at the time that their invention would change dentistry. This new product was the original Composi-Tight sectional matrix system. This system, comprising a wedge, a contoured matrix band and a separating ring, enables the dentist to better prepare composite (white “tooth-coloured”) fillings - fillings which truly replicate natural tooth anatomy whilst achieving optimal contact between the teeth, to eliminate “food traps."

Now sold in over 130 countries through our offices in North America and Europe, Garrison’s global reach is a testament to the quality of our highly-regarded line of dental products. Garrison’s product offering has expanded over the years to include matrix solutions for all classes of dental restorations, as well as instruments and other matrix procedure auxiliaries. Garrison’s flagship product, the Composi-Tight® 3D Fusion Sectional Matrix System, has won the top award within the dental community as the leading product in its category.

Blueview Cervical Matrices

Fill, press, cure.  Class Vs are hassle-free when you use the Blue View™ Cervical Matrices Kit. Faster, more profitable Class Vs with outstanding aesthetics will make both you and your patients smile.

Blue tint - provides contrast between matrix and tooth structure, does not compromise composite polymerization.

Convenient - protects the restoration from contamination, eliminates air-inhibited layer, eliminates time spent hand sculpting and reduces finishing time.

Flexible - adapts to individual anatomy for improved contours, use it to directly compact the composite into the restoration, thin edges allow excess composite to flow out for improved anatomy.

Garrison # 13 pedodontic matrix band dead soft slick 50pcs

SlickBands™ non-stick matrices are the first Tofflemire-style bands to virtually eliminate the problem of difficult to remove matrix bands. A micro-thin coating bonded to either dead-soft or regular stainless steel reduces bonding agent adhesion by a whopping 92%!

The Right-Curve™ matrix band creates a significantly increased funnel-shaped cone when wrapped around a tooth providing a lower contact point and improved isolation:

  • Funnel shape reaches over to the adjacent tooth more easily and creates a tighter gingival seal
  • Creates broader, deeper contacts
  • Extremely wide preps are simplified
  • Improved visibility for core buildups

The Margin Elevation matrix will give you the best gingival adaptation and contour for the deep margin areas:

  • Matrix is trimmed in height to allow for improved adaptation to deep margin areas
  • Deep margin elevation technique is a useful non-surgical approach to treating deep localized margins

The Quad Matrix System
Advanced design for complex cases

Go beyond basic Class IIs with Quad.
While it’s great for every day, standard Class IIs, the Quad Matrix System is named for its unique ability to streamline more complex cases. When faced with an entire quadrant of Class IIs, you need unique material designs and proven techniques to deliver efficient results you can be proud of.

Clinician Designed — Garrison Engineered.
When Dr. Matt Burton, DDS, a chair-side dentist, envisioned a better way to tackle complex Class II restorations—like back-to-back cases, deep lesions, and multi-tooth restorations—Garrison’s expertise in matrix systems and highly engineered products made it a reality. This innovative system, backed by thousands of hours of clinical field validation, overcomes challenges with precision and efficiency.
This collaboration between clinical vision and engineering mastery will streamline your workflow for all Class IIs.

A fully integrated sectional matrix system.
Confidently addresses challenging restorations including:
Back-to-Back Restorations
Simultaneously restore both sides of adjacent Class IIs with confidence. Two matrix bands, one Quad Wedge, and one Quad Ring make for a streamlined workflow on this common procedure.
Deeper Caries
Use a subgingival Firm Band along with a Quad Wedge for a deeper more secure seal enhanced by the Quad Ring driver tip.
Complex Multi-Tooth Restorations
Use combinations of Universal (blue) and Tall (orange) Quad rings to produce ideal contours and contacts on the most challenging cases.

Advanced design for complex cases.
Long Lasting Rings — Flash-Free Results

Drawn-wire nickel titanium produces lasting separating pressure plus ultra-adaptive Soft-Face tips for reduced flash.
Enhanced Cervical Seal
The split-tip Quad wedges combined with the driver tip on the Quad rings produce an independent cervical seal on both sides of back-to-back restorations.
Quadrant Workflow
Asymmetrical tip design improves ring fit, matrix stabilization and tooth separation all of which are key for achieving optimal results on challenging multiple-tooth and back-to-back Class II preparations.

Garrison Quad Rings
All-new asymmetrical Quad Ring design with specialized ‘driver-tip’ maximizes Quad Wedge adaptation and cervical seal.

Ring Driver Tip
The Quad Rings have an asymmetrical design, with a standard tip on one side and driver tip on the other. (Red arrows point to driver tip.) The driver tip shape provides a precise fit to the anatomy of the adjacent teeth for a back-to-back restoration while maintaining strong separation force.

Adapting the Split-Tip
Adapts the split-tip Quad wedge to both sides of the embrasure simultaneously, seals both cervical margins. Drives deeper for improved matrix band adaptation and tooth separation. Soft-face design for superior flash reduction.

Maximum Adaptation
The right and left driver tips of the Quad system allow you to select the ideal ring for each quadrant and for each restorative challenge.

Ring Placement
The Driver Tip should be placed on the side with the deepest/widest embrasure, which is typically the lingual side. Recommended Driver Tip placement is indicated on the chart.

Simplified Stacking
Tall rings (orange) with both left and right-side driver tips are available for simplified stacking.

Garrison Quad Wedges
The Quad Wedge utilizes a revolutionary split-tip design.
Split tip easily adapts bands to both cervical margins! Gently slides alongside papilla and seals deeper for a more natural emergence profile— even with mismatched depths.

Seal those concavities!
Quad Wedges include the highly specialized anatomical purple wedge designed for an improved seal when presented with a root concavity. Prevents flash and contamination and improves matrix adaptation.

Split Wedges
The driver tip goes between the split wedges to reinforce the matrices’ gingival seal on both teeth for a back-to-back restoration. (It is not intended to separate the teeth.)
The anatomical wedge has a convex surface to better seal against a tooth's furcation, most commonly used during deep preparations.
